![]() I can't remember the exact details but I think you couldn't buy things from the store, potentially couldn't be a PS+ member (not sure on this one), and couldn't use some PS4 social features. I bought all of these things and then realized my experience was severely limited because I had a child account, despite being an adult. Later down the line when I was a grown ass man with my own job I wanted a PS Vita, my own PS3 instead of sharing and a PS4. My family made me a child account because I was somewhere around 12 or 13 when we got our PS3. Sony in their infinite wisdom did not include a way for sub-accounts to be promoted to master accounts when the user turned 18. People set up their children as 'sub' (child) accounts to their master (adult) accounts. When PSN launched the userbase had no idea just how incompetent PSN would be.
